This highly rated book did not rate high with me, basically down to the fact after reading [b:Ten Tiny Breaths|15990969|Ten Tiny Breaths (Ten Tiny Breaths, #1)|K.A. Tucker|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1374387219s/15990969.jpg|21747190] it didn't live up to my expectations. To begin with I read a few chapters then replaced it with another book as it wasn't interesting me - and the book I swapped it with, became boring. So I gave [b:One Tiny Lie|17302495|One Tiny Lie (Ten Tiny Breaths, #2)|K.A. Tucker|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1365692893s/17302495.jpg|22603415] another go.Parts of the book were great! I especially enjoyed reading about the two little twin boys. I also enjoyed Livie's character..to start with. After a while she got front and centre on my "Annoying the fuck out of me" list. Now I don't condone people being unfaithful what-so-ever. I've read plenty where there's cheating involved, but the way it was put down here pissed me off.Livie treated Connor like he was shit on the bottom of her shoe! When they first met, I thought he was Gorgeous. She strung him along the whole way through knowing she didn't feel for him what he did her. Just for the fact that he was what she "Thought" she needed.Ashton was a dickweed. Yes he had problems, but so what! Everyone has fucking problems. Doesn't give you the right to act like an asshole.I was not at all convinced by Ashton's "Best friend" relationship with Connor.Maybe it's just me but I absolutely cringe when written in a book "Make me forget" Seriously why does that need to be written? You could just say the actual meaning behind those words "LETS FUCK" and I'd be all for it.Dr Stayner was completely unethical, crazy with a bit of psychotic on the side. Though funny at times it was completely unrealistic with some of the advice Livie was given by him and how he presented himself as a psychiatrist. The reason for the 3 star rating after everything I've written is purely because overlooking the downfalls of the book I still somewhat enjoyed myself.
I was really excited to read this one after reading all the praise it was getting in peoples reviews. (Now from experience I try not to judge a book purely on the ratings as they've been a complete let down before.) So I downloaded a sample as I always do, onto my Kindle. I thoroughly enjoyed it!Couldn't wait to add it to my collection, and start reading!
Thoughtless Fans turn around, This.Is.A.Mighty.Rant I ABSOLUTELY HATE dropping books! It's a waste of my money and time so I don't do it very often, but I for the life of me couldn't finish Thoughtless . I also hate rating books so low, but hey we give reviews to be honest so if you don't like what you're reading so far I suggest you turn around. The ratings and reviews gave it so much praise that I honestly cant believe I was reading the same novel. It.Was.Rubbish.Now I know that seems harsh, but honestly that's the nicest word I have for it. I CANNOT and will not get behind a book who's female lead is as dull and having next to no personality what-so-ever as Keira did . It makes the book excruciatingly boring and all I want to do is rip my hair out.At the beginning You have Keira and Denny (Who's an Aussie, and I thought that was awesome, because SO AM I!) move to a new city and become roommates with Denny's mate Kellan. Now the minute Keira lays her little sparkly eyes on Kellan she starts drooling like a dork and may I add BLUSHING (Who blushes that much? Seriously.) At the same time confessing her love to her partner. As the story goes on unforeseen circumstances arrive that makes the happy couple having to spend time apart. While Denny's away she sulks and mopes like a 2year old who's puppy just died and finds comfort in the arms of her roommate. Who in their right fucking mind snuggles up/ hugs/holds hands...(I could go on) with someone who they hardly even know and who is not the love of their life? A dumb bitch. Also Kellan and Keira "Gasps" sleep together (Didn't see that coming....) in a drunken haze. After Denny returns, she cant fathom why Kellan is acting like a complete asshole. Now I admit he was, but he had all the right in the world. While feeling guilty as fuck, Keira still manages to ogle Kellan, describe him over and over at the same time being a selfish bitch to Denny.Oh and lets not forget she sleeps with him AGAIN!Now you can say that sleeping with someone once is an accident, (Not really, just makes you a whore when you have someone else and you cant just slip and fall onto someone's penis) but twice?Don't get me wrong, I couldn't care less if a female lead's a whore, but only if she owns it.Then telling them to leave after having convinced them to stay by fucking them, and may I add when its their place you're rooming at? God. Yes, I'm rambling. To sum up everything I've just written in short words.Keira is a self centred, brainless blushing cow.If those were your intentions, then you hit the mark.
Never before have I needed such little time to ponder my thoughts of a rating or review."WOW" was all that was needed to be said once I finished...and wow it was.Not only has this deserved the right to sit in my favourites shelf, but for once the ratings from other people actually match the book, it seems we all know a golden gem when we see one and i have faith in humanity once again. It took me a while to start this book. I knew the ratings were great but honestly plenty times before have I been let down and tricked into a book based on the ratings and samples. So yes, I was sceptic. And what a slap in the face this was for me.It.Was.Unbelievably.AwesomeRight from the beginning it starts dragging you in very slowly, then next thing you know you're bound together forced to watch it play out, and you love every minute of it. No way can you skip to the ending, and I finished it within a day!Contrary to what the characters in the book thought of themselves, I thought they were undoubtedly strong. The way they were able to transform themselves and hide from the world. Living in a "Force Field".Such a great closing to a strong and very emotional read.I commend [a:Katja Millay|6466759|Katja Millay|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1346625628p2/6466759.jpg] on such a beautifully written book.
2.5 star rating.I honestly don't understand the 4 or 5 stars others have chosen for this book. Only thing I can put it down to is preference. The ratings on this book were quite good so I had high expectations going into it.It played a too familiar tune - Good girl hates bad boy/good girl loves bad boy/Cant be together blah blah. I usually don't mind a clichéd book, this one however did NOT float my boat.I thought considering Alex was in a "Gang" there would be more roughness/action in his personality and the story. Yes I took into consideration he only joined the gang to protect his family, but still I was disappointed. The relationship between Brittany and Alex felt forced, I didn't really connect to either one of them, nor did I think they were anything alike, like it was stated in parts of the book. No passion or chemistry was jumping out to me WHAT-SO-EVER.Major cringe worthy conversations that felt as though they were put there just for the sake of a conversation which wasn't needed. The highlight of my emotions in this book was the strong urge I had to slam my fist into Brittany's mothers face. Complete BITCH!
Thoroughly enjoyable and easy read, I was able to finish in one sitting!I loved reading and experiencing the story of both Nick and Alix growing up together. Very emotional towards the end!
Talk about a sad fest!If I had known I'd most likely bawl while reading parts of this I would have come better prepared. When sniffling wasn't taking place it was an interesting and easy read for me.The characters were well written and thought out.Brad had me lol a few times with his quirky banter, and Gabby with her addictive obsession to candy, and coffee. Cant blame her, who doesn't love coffee am I right? The relationship with Dane? I feel it was unnecessarily placed. Didn't need to be there. Also a few things here and there I felt could have been resolved or properly delved into, but apart from that it was a very quick yet enjoyable read.
Ok I wasn't going to bother doing a review for this yet as I haven't finished reading it, but..oh well! I can re-add or undo once I get around to it. My Positves I loved the start to this book! Very HOT!, very FUNNY!.I also loved Nina's take no prisoners attitude once she got fuming. When reading the book I didn't have a face to Nina, but to Max..well - JASON MOMOA!
After reading Colleen Hoover's [b:Slammed|13372690|Slammed (Slammed, #1)|Colleen Hoover|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1328530463s/13372690.jpg|18602144] I was excited, to say the least jumping straight into book 2.I loved the new characters introduced in the book and learning a bit about them and their quirky ways. After following a book like Slammed I didn't think it would be able to live up to my expectations, However it was a very enjoyable and intense read. Maybe a bit TOO much drama at times, but never a dull moment!Big fan of Eddie! I look forward to seeing how her and Gavin's relationship unfolds in the next instalment.
- AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! I am SOOOO DISAPPOINTED in myself for taking such a long vacation away from my reading routine!! yes it was slightly unhealthy and made me sleep deprived, but that's not the point! I'm done!
Saved by the angel Samael, Lilith, the Dark Immortal, lives her life avenging evil and killing those who refuse to repent. Gaining her life-force from those she slaughters, there are those other immortals who see her as the evil one. But when a human gets caught between herself and her Antediluvian enemies, Lilith must make a decision she does not understand, with outcomes she cannot imagine
A heart warming love story about finding love in an unexpected time and place.Face your fears and forgive those you love. This was a very easy read, short and sweet.Usually when I read romance novels I like to have some sort of drama stuffed into the pages of the story, just to make it more interesting. However there wasn't really any of that in this book and surprisingly I still really much enjoyed reading it.The only thing I WILL criticize, is the ending. Didn't do it for me at all.
Wow. That was Super fast! Read in under a day.Easy read and I enjoyed the characters. It was different to see the roles reversed, with the male playing the role that's usually left for the female. The storyline was a tad too predictable for me, but I still liked it.
Wow what a quick and easy read! That has to be some kind of record for me. Read in under 4 hours. Devoured that book! I liked the book but I felt like being in a constant loop with the characters. There wasn't really any new development with any of them. Is there going to be another book? There were new characters that were thrown into this book and by the end you were left wondering what happened to them next.Loved the whole scene with all the notes and gifts given to Blaire from Rush. Extremely dislike Nan. She is the most self centred, whining brat to walk the earth. If I could jump through the pages and throttle the girl trust me, I would. With pleasure.Great chemistry!, but I want more :)
On the night of Alex's older brothers graduation he died, and everything changed. No longer was Alex a happy popular girl with loving parents and great friends, but a shell of her former self.Depressed and alone, with parents who neglected to show their love and friends who didn't understand. In times of comfort she turned to the only person who could make her heal and who also loved her brother as much as she did, his best friend. Jesse. They were both tortured and broken, but what happens when those times of grieving passion just isn't enough to take the pain away anymore?
